Antonio Carnevale

Dr Antonio Carnevale received his PhD in Political Philosophy (2007) from University of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa (SSSA), where he held different research positions from 2009 to 2016. He is a member of Lab Migrant Studies at the University of Chieti-Pescara (Italy). From 2012 until 2014 he has been a member and co-leader of the EU-funded project RoboLaw (Regulating Emerging Robotic Technologies in Europe). He has also been a member of EU-funded project Robot-Era and responsible for the scientific activities of several Research Projects of National Interest (PRIN) funded by the Italian ministry MIUR. He has been a member of the International Research Laboratory on Conflict, Development and Global Politics at SSSA. He has published over 40 papers in international journals, books, and conferences, and acted as peer-reviewer for many reputed journals. He spent research periods at the Institut für Sozialforschung at J.W. Goethe-University in Frankfurt am Main with the sponsorship of Axel Honneth (2003), and he was a visiting scholar at the Committee on Social Thought of the University of Chicago (2006). His areas of specialization include modern and contemporary political philosophy, Hegel, Frankfurt School, social justice, shame, human enhancement, robotics and disabilities, ethics and emerging technologies.
