Dr. Dimitrios Gkritzapis is a Member of the Board of International Directors at Oxford Aerospace Academy – Greece. He is a Major at the Hellenic Police Headquarters in the Special Police Forces Division serving in the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) Department in Athens. He graduated from the Department of Physics, School of Applied Sciences, University of Patras, Greece and he holds a PhD in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering awarded by the Polytechnic School at the University of Patras. Dr. Gkritzapis has been a Lecturer at the Hellenic Army Academy since 2007. He has published over 25 scientific papers in international journals and conferences and an academic book. In 2011, Dr. Gkritzapis was designated Project Manager for the Hellenic Police Pilot Program for the operational use and evaluation of UAVs in the Hellenic state borders funded by the External Borders Development Funds. In 2016, Dr. Gkritzapis obtained his pilot license for ultra-light aircraft, and since 2017 he is a UAV Operator Examiner endorsed by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). He is also a certified operator and technician for the UAVs Squadron in operation in Greece. Dr. Gkritzapis is an Instructor at Unmanned Vehicle University (USA). Dr. Gkritzapis supervises Oxford Aerospace Academy business operations and aerospace training programs in Greece.
