Dr. Silvia Ciotti is Clinical Criminologist, with a previous university degree in Criminal Law. She has been Judge at the Criminal Court of Florence from January 2001 to June 2006. From 2005 to 2008, she was an adjunct Professor at the University for Foreigners of Perugia, teaching Language of Deviance, Theory of International Criminal Communication and International Relationships, while simultaneously conducting university research activities in criminology and international relations. Dr. Silvia Ciotti has been the chair of the Department of Social and Environmental Sciences at the St. John International University from 2008 to 2010, teaching Environmental Anthropology, Environmental Ethics, Introduction to Environmental Science and Environmental Law. Actually, she teaches Victimology and Social Psychology in Master classes (international master DAMAGE) at the Ecole des Mines d’Ales (France).
Since 2006, she is independent evaluator of the proposals presented previously under the 7th Framework Programme calls, Security Research And Development, and actually under the Horizon2020 framework programme. She is also reviewer of a number of ongoing approved and financed projects managed by the EU Research Executive Agency, the EASME and the DG ENTERPRISE AND INDUSTRY. Dr. Ciotti is member of the Ethics panel of the European Research Council and of other EU and national agencies and institutions, as the Irish Research Council, where she is also Outer and Inner Board Evaluator.
She founded the EuroCrime Italian Think Tank in 2007, and currently she is the major shareholder of EuroCrime Ltd. and its CEO, managing the activities of the research, training and consulting center and its collaborators.
